Kerala: Scenes of

I was in a constant state of enchantment during a two week trip in Kerala.  It was January 2011 when BF and I escaped the winter chill in London for a warmer & drier climate in southwestern India.  I had expected good food, a bit of organized chaos (my favorite kind), and a few mosquito bites.  What I didn’t anticipate was the gentle rhythm I found in various parts of Kerala; namely Fort Cochin, Alappuzha, Thekkady, Munnar and the outskirts of Trivandrum,

As words can do me no justice here, I’ll leave you with a few photographs that hopefully captures that Keralan pace of life I so embraced:

Alappuzha: cruising in the tranquil backwaters

Chinese fishing net in Fort Cochin

Doing laundry in the backwaters of Alappuzha

Curious & friendly kids swimming in the backwaters
